Description
We are seeking qualified and passionate individuals for our After School Enrichment Leader position. The Site Leader I, II, III provides direct hands-on support and leading enrichment sessions of The Village Method curriculum and facilitation of youth-led service projects in an after school setting. Your role is to be a rockstar with young scholars, change lives, and impact our local communities. You are the face, feeling and voice of TVM Programming.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned school sites, ensuring that all programs run smoothly and efficiently, including managing schedules, coordinating activities, and ensuring that facilities are well-managed.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise site staff, including program coordinators, volunteers, and support staff. Provide guidance and support to ensure that staff are effectively carrying out their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure that all programs and services are delivered according to the organization’s standards and objectives. Monitor program effectiveness and adjust as necessary to meet the needs of participants.
- Maintain a safe environment for all participants, staff, and visitors. Ensure that the site complies with all relevant regulations, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
- Engage directly with school leaders to ensure that all operational aspects needed to deliver services are met and that schedules, meetings, and events are well-coordinated to avoid conflicts.
- Manage site resources, including supplies, equipment, and budget. Ensure that resources are used efficiently and responsibly to support the site’s operations and programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison for teachers assigned to their sites, facilitating communication and collaboration to support program goals.
- Provide support and guidance to participants, addressing any concerns or issues that arise. Ensure that all participants feel welcomed and valued, and that their needs are met through the site’s programs and services.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, participant attendance, and program outcomes. Prepare regular reports for the executive team, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Plan and coordinate special events, workshops, and activities at the site. Ensure that events are well-organized, inclusive, and aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve site operations and program delivery. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the overall effectiveness of the site.
- Assist in the development and management of the site’s budget. Monitor expenses and ensure that the site operates within its financial constraints.
- Collaborate with the executive team, other site managers, and program staff to align site activities with the broader goals of the organization. Share insights and strategies to support the success of all sites.
- Address and resolve conflicts that may arise among staff, participants, or within the community. Ensure that all issues are handled professionally and in a manner that promotes positive outcomes.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for site staff. Encourage professional growth and ensure that staff have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring of new team members, ensuring that all hires align with the organization’s mission and values.
- Handle all participant, staff, and organizational information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, in line with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Travel to events as needed to represent TVM, raise awareness of its work, and exhibit at community and partner events.
- Report and track success metrics to demonstrate program impact and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field. (preferred)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing or coordinating after-school programs, youth development, or similar nonprofit initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and educators.
- Strong knowledge of child safety protocols and experience implementing policies to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate after-school activities that align with the program's educational goals.
- Experience in managing program budgets, including tracking expenses, reporting, and adjusting to stay within financial guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with state and local regulations governing after-school programs, including licensing and reporting requirements.
- Comfortable using technology for program management, including scheduling software, communication platforms, and educational tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to develop and implement training programs for staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
