Questions We Hear From Families Like Yours
We know choosing the right college prep program for your child is a big decision. These are the real questions parents ask us during consultations, along with our honest answers. We believe in transparency because your family deserves to make informed choices.
What exactly is included in the ASHÉ program?
TVM’s Academic Support and Holistic Enrichment program (ASHE) is designed for elementary and middle schoolers. We work to develop the mindset of a Scholar by tapping into the natural curiosities and interests of students around the arts, friendships, games, history, family and food. We create fun atmospheres that youth want to be in while they work on homework, confidence and independence in their study habits. We aim to establish programming on school campuses to make it easy for youth and families to have a home away from home in the afterschool setting and a safe place for TVM Scholars and families to connect 1-2 times a week.
How much does the ASHÉ program cost?
Our programming benefits from partnerships with schools, businesses, and corporations to keep programming affordable and sometimes even free. Prices vary by region and by site. Please ask us to learn more.
What makes ASHÉ different from other after-school programs?
We focus on the whole child. Our approach combines academic excellence with the personal development and confidence-building students need to thrive. We also engage parents as essential partners in the process, because we know family support is the key to student success.
Do you guarantee academic improvement?
While no program can guarantee specific grades, 98% of our students show significant academic improvement. Our true guarantee is that your child will receive dedicated, personalized support to build the skills, habits, and confidence they need to succeed in school and beyond.
What ages and grade levels do you serve?
The ASHÉ program is designed to provide a strong academic foundation for students in kindergarten through 8th grade, preparing them for the challenges of high school and the journey to college.
How are donations used, and are they tax-deductible?
Yes, The Village Method is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so all donations are tax-deductible. 100% of donations go directly to program costs, including funding scholarships, educational materials, and our certified educators.
Where is the ASHÉ program located?
Our programs operate on participating school campuses across the country, providing convenient afterschool support right where your child already attends school.
How do I know if this program is right for my child?
After 10+ years of serving our community, Scholars have told us they love TVM and families say the same. Our program works well with young people who are quiet, outgoing, looking for a friend group, want to learn more about culture and the African Diaspora, who are in other activities or who have never been in an activity before. We are also a great program for Scholars who occasionally need support on their study skills and are ok being helped in a collective group. We believe each family knows what’s best for their child. If you’d like to learn more, check us out on YouTube or reach out directly.
What if my child has special learning needs?
While our program teachers are not certified in all diverse learning styles, we’ve found that children with various learning needs enjoy TVM spaces. It’s always best to contact us directly and share more about your child’s learning needs. We are not a tutoring company; however, we create space for youth to work on approaches to learning. Over the years, we’ve found that families with children with special learning needs often have valuable resources to share that benefit our whole group. Reach out if you’d like to discuss your child’s needs with us!
